Driver applications and onboarding

Aurora uses applicant contact information, employment details, license information, and uploaded documents to review driver applications. After conditional acceptance, a private onboarding link may request a Social Security number and ADOT driving record for the background-check process. These details are separate from rider and dispatch information. Identity submissions use private storage with encryption at rest. Viewing a submitted Social Security number requires the owner’s private password and creates an access record. Do not send Social Security numbers by text or email. Contact the Aurora office to ask about your application or correct submitted information.

Private ride tracking

An opted-in rider or authorized contact may receive a private link showing their assigned driver, vehicle, trip status, and current vehicle position. Anyone who has this link can view that trip while the link remains active; share it only with a trusted contact. Links expire at the end of the trip, on reassignment, or after a short time. Aurora shows the driver’s phone location only when the driver enables sharing for the current trip and a recent GPS update is available. Phone updates may pause when Aurora is closed or the screen is locked. Only the latest temporary position is kept for this view; stale coordinates are regularly cleared. Google Maps receives the location and destination needed to display the route and estimate arrival. Driver profiles and vehicle photos are published separately by the office; private hiring documents, driver contact details, and other riders’ trips are not part of the rider view.

Transportation operations

Aurora Logistics uses rider contact and trip information to coordinate non-emergency medical transportation, confirm attendance, notify riders about driver timing, document service, respond to requests, and improve service quality.

Text messaging

Aurora sends text messages only when a rider or authorized contact has opted in. Message frequency varies with scheduled transportation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help or STOP to unsubscribe. Text-message consent is optional and is not required to receive transportation services.

Information kept out of ordinary SMS

Aurora avoids diagnoses, appointment reasons, member identifiers, and detailed medical information in ordinary text messages. Office and driver alerts are limited to the operational information needed to identify and coordinate a trip.

Consent data

Aurora may retain the mobile number, preferred language, consent status, date and time, consent method, staff account that collected consent, delivery status, replies, and opt-out history to operate and document the messaging program.

Sharing

Aurora may use service providers that process communications and protected system operations on Aurora’s behalf. All categories described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Your choices

You may withdraw SMS consent by replying STOP. You may ask Aurora staff to update your phone number, preferred language, or communication preference. Riders without an approved personal mobile number remain eligible for office telephone coordination.
